Student demonstrations, 1959-1979

Students protest nuclear tests, 1958 Stanford University students with signs and pamphlets staged a demonstration against nuclear tests on the lawn in front of the library. An estimated 1,000 turned out for the gathering and about 200 signed a petition to President Eisenhower during the first two hours of the demonstration.
