At the time, I initially regretted sending him that e-mail. In retrospect, I’m thrilled that I sent him that email. I sent [Joe Nye] — who was dean of the Kennedy School at the time — I had just finished reading his book and I sent him this very overzealous fanboy kind of e-mail, and I said, “Dear Dean Nye, I just read your book. I love it. And as a result of reading your book, I’ve been thinking about switching my major and now I want to be a political scientist.” I was just gushing.
