It’s no secret that newsrooms across the United States are staring down grim times. The Trump administration has threatened to strip the tax-exempt status of nonprofits it doesn’t agree with, trust in the media is falling by the day, and journalists the world over are facing harassment and even violence.

At Inkstick Media, the goal is to do journalism from the ground up. In other words, our nonprofit newsroom seeks to give you the stories of real people impacted by war, conflict, human rights abuses, and the military industrial complex. Inkstick has no corporate funding. It accepts no money from defense contractors, tech oligarchs, or politicians.

That’s why Inkstick needs your help. Our newsroom depends largely on donations and reader support. In the last year, our team and our contributors have covered Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip, the militarization of American cities, the abuses displaced people endure on borders from the US to Europe, and the people who offer a word of dissent when confronted with injustice.

“Our nonprofit newsroom seeks to give you the stories of real people impacted by war, conflict, human rights abuses, and the military industrial complex.”

Between now and Dec. 31, you can donate to Inkstick and have your contribution doubled without any additional cost to you. As part of our annual fundraising campaign, NewsMatch will match your donation. If you chip in $100, Inkstick will get $200. That includes monthly contributions, too. If you commit to $20 a month, NewsMatch will give Inkstick an extra $240, the equivalent of your annual donations.

Your support will go directly toward Inkstick’s reporting, and believe us when we say that we will never put our publication behind a paywall. We are committed to contributing to an informed public, and we wouldn’t compromise that commitment solely for subscription money.

Over the last couple years, our team has thrown its full weight into our editorial mandate: to tell the stories of people corporate media outlets too often overlook or ignore. Will you do your part and support independent, nonprofit journalism?
