Emily Tamkin is a global affairs journalist and the author of "The Influence of Soros" and "Bad Jews." Her work has appeared in the Boston Globe, the New Republic, the New York Times, Slate, and the Washington Post, among other publications. She is a contributing columnist at the Forward and was previously staff writer at Foreign Policy, foreign affairs reporter at BuzzFeed News, and senior editor, US at the New Statesman. She has been the recipient of a research Fulbright, a Heinrich Böll grant, a CFR International Affairs fellowship, and participated in the inaugural Shalom Hartman Writers and Journalists program. She lives in Washington, DC.
